Failure

How many of you reaing his post have failed at something in your life? Whether it is an important exam (music/educational) or a dream, failure is something which can (and probably will) affect each of us at some point in our lives. For me, that was in fact just last week and I happened to fail both of the above examples. Ever since I joined our local church choir (almost 8 years ago) I have had an ambition to succeed in gaining the Bishop's Award (which is an RSCM silver award eqivilant). I already have the Dean's Award (the level below which you now need before you take the Bishop's Award) and so I took the exam this October for the Bishop's. If I am perfectly honest, I wasn't truly ready as I wasn't secure on the high notes (or any of the notes for that matter) and so becuase I wasn't happy with them my diction went as well. So, you've guessed it - I failed. Except it was by three marks! That's what made it so upsetting for me, it was 3 measly marks that would've been so easy to have got but nevermind. I am going to retake the exam in (hopefully) February next year and I will get a merit!!!
I hope.........
